A Message from the Pokémon Masters EX Team (Vol. 85)
Greetings, Trainers.
I’m Tetsuya Iguchi, producer of Pokémon Masters EX, here with a new message for you.
Today, we’ll focus on details about events beginning around the end of January and the new Sync Pairs that will debut.
Story Event Dressed to Give Thanks begins on January 29, 2026!
Adaman is worried about how to express his gratitude on Palentine’s Day, so Atticus suggests that he wears an outfit that’s a perfect fit for Palentine’s Day.
After hearing about it, Rika shows some interest as well…
This event has a special story at the end, and you can obtain special Artwork by completing it.
You can see this Artwork in the story too, so be sure to check it out.
Rika (Palentine's 2026) & Quagsire are a Ground-type Strike Sync Pair. Their EX Role is Field.
The first time they enter a battle, one of their Passive Skills raises their Sp. Atk by four stat ranks and critical-hit rate by three stat ranks. Plus, their Toxic Move can leave all opponents badly poisoned, and their Sync Move gets powered up when used against a badly poisoned opponent.
Also, their Precipitous Cliffs Earth Power Buddy Move attacks all opponents, lowers their Sp. Def by two stat ranks, and increases Rika (Palentine's 2026) & Quagsire’s Special Moves ↑ Next effect by one to four ranks at random. In addition, it increases Rika (Palentine's 2026) & Quagsire’s Special Moves ↑ Next effect by one rank when the target is poisoned or badly poisoned.
Their I Know I’m Pretty! Trainer Move can create a Ground Zone, and the first time their Quagsire uses a status move, another Passive Skill of theirs can also create a Ground Zone.
Adaman (Palentine's 2026) & Sylveon are a Fairy-type Strike Sync Pair. Their EX Role is Field.
The first time they enter a battle, their Passive Skills reduce their Sync Move countdown by one and create a Fairy Zone. On top of that, their Normal-type moves become Fairy-type moves, they apply the Physical Move Break effect to the target the first time their Giga Impact move is successful, and they can attack while ignoring the target’s Passive Skills that would reduce their damage, Passive Skills that would protect the target against a critical hit, and the target’s Enduring effect.
Their Baby Blue Play Rough Buddy Move attacks all opponents, and if the remaining MP for their Lum Berry Move is one or more, it reduces those MP by one, increases their Physical Moves ↑ Next effect by two ranks, and applies Sinnoh Circle (Physical).
In late January’s update, recurring offers with bonuses such as the Daily Gem Bundle EX will be replaced by new, simpler offers: the Pokémon Masters Pass and Premium Pass!
When you purchase the Pokémon Masters Pass, you’ll be able to collect Gems, and for 20 days you’ll be able to earn Sync Orbs and Battle Points more easily. After purchasing, you’ll also get up to 20 Log-in Bonuses that will give you Gems and Stamina.
The Premium Pass also lets you collect Gems upon purchase. After purchasing, you can receive up to 20 Log-in Bonuses that include Gems and Move Candy Coins.
What’s more, you can obtain one Pass Point from the Pokémon Masters Pass and two Pass Points from the Premium Pass. Based on how many Pass Points you’ve accumulated, you’ll receive amazing rewards, like a Fair-Guaranteed Scout Ticket or Superawakening Candy!
You’ll receive Pass Points each time you make a purchase. Each time you have nine Pass Points, you can get a Master Fair Guaranteed Ticket, so be sure to check it out!
Note: After collecting nine rewards, you can start receiving rewards again, starting from the beginning.
See The Pokémon Masters Pass and Premium Pass Debut! notice for details.
In addition, to go along with the Pokémon Masters Pass and other offers noted above, we’ve revised the Gems purchase screen to streamline and simplify it by removing the Monthly tab and adding some products to the Weekly tab.
Note: We have adjusted the “Monthly gift gems (limit 1)” by combining it with the “Weekly gift gems (limit 1)” offer.
Additionally, we acknowledge that the Upgrades screen has become difficult to understand and navigate, especially for beginners, due to the increase in various upgrades. To address this issue, we have implemented some minor improvements to enhance the gameplay experience. These changes include adjustments to the display of Sync Pair icons and updates to some of the pop-up content that appears when logging in.
A Legendary Gauntlet featuring Tornadus, Terrakion, and Raikou is scheduled to begin on February 5, 2026.
A one-time-only Sync Pair Scout that lets you select one Fair-Exclusive Sync Pair will start to accompany the Legendary Gauntlet, so we hope you’ll check it out.
Starting January 31, 2026, you’ll be able to invite Grimsley to the Trainer Lodge as a Guest!
To invite Grimsley, you’ll need to team up with Grimsley & Liepard first.
You can team up with Grimsley & Liepard via various Sync Pair Scouts, so be sure to invite Grimsley once you’ve teamed up with this Sync Pair.
Our next message is scheduled for mid-February.
In it, we plan to share information about new Sync Pairs and events for the Run-Up to 6.5 Years Celebration.
We’re always working hard to deliver updates and improvements that make the world of Pokémon Masters EX as fun as possible.
We prioritize Trainers’ feedback throughout the development process, so don’t hesitate to let us know what you think.
Until next time, thank you for playing Pokémon Masters EX.
