Regarding Pasio Gym Battle No. 3
We’ve received a lot of feedback regarding our new Pasio Gym Battle feature that began in 2026.
We sincerely regret that we have not been able to meet the expectations of everyone who has been aiming for high ranks while enjoying Gym Battles, and for not providing a fair playing environment.
It has been some time since Pasio Gym Battle No. 2, as we have been investigating each issue so that we could bring back Pasio Gym Battles with revisions made.
In this message, we’d like to share details of the issues that have been resolved, and provide an overview of Pasio Gym Battle No. 3.
Note: Check out Pasio Gym Battle Details for more information on how to play.
With these revisions, if multiple players take on the same battle at the same time, only the score of the player whose results were finalized first will be reflected.
Gym members who attempt to finalize their battle results after that will not have their score counted, and the Gym Battle Challenge Tickets they used will be returned.
Also, if another gym member is currently attempting a battle, a message will appear once the attempt has begun.
Please see this link for more information.
We initially designed this feature so that each battle could be attempted by multiple players at the same time in order to eliminate wait time while other Trainers took on battles. However, we recognize that using a system like this in a ranking-based event has resulted in a loss of fairness.
We deeply regret the design flaws and our oversights in planning this event.
We have made adjustments so that opponents in Extra Battles will get even stronger as more circuits are completed.
There are no changes to opponents’ stats up to Circuit #5, but from Circuit #6 on, opponents’ stats will change with each circuit, getting stronger up to Circuit #12.
Also, we are adjusting the special rules that apply to Extra Battles, aimed at those who like to get in-depth while playing Gym Battles.
From Circuit #4 on, all battles will have one rule added, for a total of two rules active per battle.
By applying multiple special rules, we’re aiming to provide players who have several upgraded Sync Pairs opportunities for them to shine.
For more information on special rules, please see Extra Battles Special Rules under Details below.
More players have participated in Gym Battles than we initially anticipated.
Taking this into account, we have added new ranking rewards to ranks 501 through 1,000, and ranks 1,001 through 2,000.
Details on the ranking rewards are as follows:
Taking into account that opponents’ HP in Gym Battles are higher than in conventional battles, opponents’ resistances to some effects that inflict a fixed percentage of damage every time they take an action (such as from poison or a sandstorm), have been strengthened in all battles.

Again, we’d like to express our sincere regret for the inconvenience and trouble caused to everyone during the previous events.
To ensure that everyone can have a satisfactory experience in these events, we will continue to take your feedback seriously and implement improvements to make the events even better.
We hope you continue to enjoy Pokémon Masters EX.
