About Skill Gear
Skill Gear is a new kind of gear that is different from gear up to now.
Note: In conjunction with this, all pre-existing gear will be referred to as Type Gear.
At first, Skill Gear has no effects by itself, but by unlocking skills, you can randomly add stats, Themes, and additional effects to the gear.
The Themes for Skill Gear correspond with a Sync Pair’s Theme Skills, so the gear’s stats and additional effects will only be activated when one of the gear’s Theme matches a Sync Pair’s Theme Skill.
Note: Effects will not stack for a single piece of Skill Gear even if multiple Themes and Theme Skills match.
You can unlock skills via Skill Gear under Gear in the Sync Pair menu.
Skill Gear cannot be upgraded or have its level cap unlocked as with Type Gear.
You can get Skill Gear from the Monthly tab in the Exchange Items menu and also from various events.
Note: To exchange items, go to the Exchange Items menu in the Shop screen, then look for the Monthly tab.
Unlocking skills requires an item called a Skill Feather.
The stats, Themes, and additional effects added to gear are determined randomly based on the kind of Skill Feather.
If you use a Skill Feather on Skill Gear that you have already unlocked skills for, you will be given a choice to either keep or overwrite the existing effects with new ones. The Skill Feather will be consumed even if you choose to keep the effects.
You can see the details of the Themes and additional effects that can be added by going to What This Unlocks in the Skill Feather item details screen.
Note: In What This Unlocks, only the effects that you have previously encountered by using a Skill Feather will be shown in the list.
There are also special Skill Feathers guaranteed to add certain effects to gear.
A Skill Feather Area will be added to the Training Area.
Try getting a Skill Feather to unlock the skills of Skill Gear.
You can also get Skill Feathers from various events.
You are able to protect the Themes and additional effects you have unlocked for Skill Gear.
Protected Themes and additional effects will not be overwritten when unlocking skills.
Protecting skills requires an item called an Ever Pin.
By using an Ever Pin, you can protect one Theme or additional effect that has been added to your Skill Gear.
Up to one Theme and one additional effect can be protected for each piece of Skill Gear that you own.
You can protect skills in the Skill Gear details screen.
You can get Ever Pins from the Monthly tab in the Exchange Items menu and also from various events.
Note: To exchange items, go to the Exchange Items menu in the Shop screen, then look for the Monthly tab.
